I begin my travel blogging journey with this first post. In my website, I have tried to provide first hand account of my travels and related travel stories. I hope you will enjoy reading!
I also plan to include tips based on personal experiences which will guide you when you are on-ground. Tips will include things such as what to expect, what to carry etc.
For example, if you are landing in Bhutan, you should carry a fleece shirt or a sweat shirt even in winters. If your itenary involves visit to monasteries, you need to wear full sleeve shirt and full pants – they will not allow you inside if you are in capris or half pants. You can carry Indian currency of denomination 2000, 500, 100 as all is acceptable in Bhutan. In China, you should download an app with spoken translation as it is very difficult to move in China without a proper translation app.
There is another interesting incident which I will like to narrate here. In Punakha, we were trekking to Tiger Monastery. Now, before you commence trekking, you are supposed to purchase tickets. The trek is quite steep and is about 11 kms. Not many people notice the ticket counter and they do not realize that they need to buy tickets as there is no checking of tickets before commencing the trek. While I noticed the ticket counter and we bought tickets, there were two families who did not buy tickets and started trekking. When they reached the monastery after trekking, they were denied entry. They tried to haggle with the guards that they can pay penalty and cash, but the guards did not budge. So, in a nutshell, please purchase tickets before trekking to Tiger Nest.
There are many such useful tips which I have included in my narratives and stories around my travel.
Hope you will enjoy the read and find it useful as well!
