About Me

How I started – My travel blogging journey

I have always been a free spirit. As such I would never miss a chance to take up travel.

I always wanted to share my experiences with others but never got the time and never could figure out a way to share my experiences but with the advent of digital world (and post my enrollment into a marketing course with Digitalvidya (http://www.digitalvidya.com/), I mastered the courage to venture into the field of travel blogging.

I started doing it all by my self and took help/advice from few friends…got stuck at few places and again started looking at you tube videos (i particularly liked the video by Greg Narayan, you can google the link in case you also want to explore blogging.)

I decided to build my own blog where I could share with the world all that I have experienced till now in my travel journeys and as a consequence TravelTalesnTips was born.

In TraveltalesnTips – my travel blog, my two passions found a beautiful culmitnation – travel and writing. This blog is a humble attempt by me to recount all my travel experiences, and I hope to inspire you to explore the beautiful the world.

I have mostly travelled within India – places include Manali, Mussorie, Darjeeling, Nainital, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Andaman, Dalhousie, Shimla, Jaipur, Agra, Rishikesh, Sikkim and many more.

Outside India, I have been to Bhutan, Nepal, Australia, China, Philippines, US, Singapore, Dubai and I am sure the list will keep growing.

I plan to recount as much as I can of my recent trips. Hence, I will keep adding more as and when i explore more…

Few lines about me..

I am Harpreet  and stay in Gurgaon, India. In my previous avatar, I have worked with some of the major brands in the world in various consumer insights and sales profiles.

I love to travel and explore the beautiful earth created by God.  I am in love with hills and nature and would love to settle in hills one day.

A poem below composed by me summarizes some of my feelings – dedicated to the beautiful hills and valleys of Bhutan:

“Beautiful valleys, lush green blankets, blue skies and colorful meadows,
Singing winds, swaying flowers
and oh, I notice a dancing tree
Ah the place feels like a spirit which is free…

Standing tall with white tops, an air with chills
Majestic mountains welcome me to the land of hills
Echoing chirps all around
Nature’s bounty so abound

Clouds are playing hide and seek
Giving sun a chance to peek
Reflections in the lake so mesmerizing
Feels like heaven itself is calling

Everything seems so pure, so chaste
Seems to the eyes a sumptuous fest
Oh! I am smittened, Oh! I am smittened!!

Childhood memories of hill stories become suddenly fresh
Clear as crystal in my brain full of mesh
A mesh woven by a life always at an ascend
Lead as if there was never a descend?

Deep inside there was always a quest
To find a place where I can finally rest
Yes, this is the place of my dreams
Which has always beckoned me in my creams

So what if I have come of age
I still have a burning craze
To enjoy till heart is alive
To finally live before I die
Yes this is the place where I want to rest!! This is the place where I want to rest!!”
